Hello and welcome!
My name is Katie Schneider and I am a senior in the Music Education program at UW-Milwaukee. I am a vocalist, and my goal is to teach high school choir--a reality that is closing in very quickly! Beyond music I am passionate about reading, animals, the Green Bay Packers, and cooking. I am also on a journey for the best coffee in Milwaukee, and the current front runner is either Rochambo or Roast!
If you would like to investigate my musical passions further, I have another blog about Vocal Pedagogy that highlights what I have learned about anatomy, health, and technique for the voice. There are videos and personal testimonials as well. I love to nerd out about those topics, so please check it out!
Other favorites:-Kopps custard (any flavor, but tiramisu, banana walnut chocolate chunk, and red velvet oreo are top)
-To Kill a Mockingbird, book
-Silver Lining's Playbook, movie
-Come From Away, musical
Enjoy the blog!
Hi Katie! I enjoyed looking through your previous blog to learn more about the world of vocal pedagogy and the technical and anatomical elements of vocal practice. While I spent my high school years in multiple band and orchestra classes, I was not fortunate enough to be blessed with vocal chords that anyone would enjoy listening to, so this topic was extremely interesting to explore! I hope we get to hear some samples of your beautiful voice this semester as it's a skill that I am always awed by (and slightly jealous of). Thanks for sharing a bit about your life!

Hi Katie! Thank you for telling us so much about yourself. I, too, am a big fan of coffee but usually just go to colectivo when I'm in Milwaukee. I'll have to check out the other places you mentioned the next time I'm on campus. Although I'm not a musical person at all, I love musical theater! We had tickets to see Come From Away last year but, unfortunately, the show was canceled due to the pandemic. What type of music do you usually perform?
ReplyDeleteHi Katie! I am also a lover of coffee. Rochambo is wonderful! If you're ever in the Bay View area, you should consider trying HiFi. Stone Creek is one of my preferred places to grab some coffee but I usually find myself rushing through a Dunkin' drive thru. I look forward to reading through your other blog and to reading more from you!
ReplyDeleteHi Katie,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Shania Daniels, I did not know that UW-Milwaukee had an Education program for music. Your major sound so exciting, growing up I loved music class especially orchestra fun fact I also played the violin in middle school. I probably remember how to play the intro songs like Mary had a little lamb and Twinkle twinkle star. But I am excited to read your future post and learn more about Music Education.
Hi Katie!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, hey bestie! Honestly I really loved getting to know you from a teaching perspective. I feel like we know so much about each other personally, but have never gotten to look into what we do as parallels! What we do is so similar yet so different, isn't that something special? Anyways, very easy blog to look at and operate. Great work :)
Welcome to the course, Katie. The Roast is a favorite coffee stop for me. I hope that you are able to try some Anodyne coffee as well. That is the bean roaster that is served at The Roast. Yum yums.
